Applications for the positions at serial no. 1 & 2 are invited from the nationals of SAARC Member States (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka) for appointment at the SEC Office, Islamabad, Pakistan. For position at serial no. 3, only Pakistani nationals are eligible to apply.

Programme Leader (Energy Trade)
Job responsibilities include:

  • Undertake independent, quantitative and qualitative research & analysis as well as lead a small group of researchers;
  • Assist the Director SEC with research proposals and conduct analysis on specific topics pertaining to Energy Trade;
  • Interact with relevant regional institution, policy-makers and professionals and manage stakeholder’s engagement processes;
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders;
  • Conceive, conceptualize and implement the SEC annual programme activities related to Energy Trade;
  • Organize, participate and/or make presentations at workshops and conferences hosted by the SAARC Energy Centre;
  • Proactively coordinate the outsourcing of short-term research tasks on Energy Trade; and
  • Any other assignment(s) given by Director.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelors of Engineering or Masters of Science (16 years’ education) in energy related field. Professionals possessing higher or meritorious academic qualification will be preferred.
  • Minimum 04 years’ experience in any energy related National and International organizations, dealing with Energy programme planning and development. The length of required experience will be reduced for candidates possessing higher academic qualification.
  • Maximum age not more than 55 years on the last date of submission of application.
  • Motivation to do research and ability to work independently. Strong analytical abilities as demonstrated by academic achievements and other personal accomplishments;
  • Ability to structure strategic analyses, perform synthesis, lead small research group, make recommendations and prepare quality technical reports;
  • Have strong initiative, self-motivation, willingness to learn, lead & deliver and ability to work in a multicultural environment;
  • Ability to lead a small team to deliver commitments;
  • Possess excellent communication skills in English (both verbal and written);
  • Well versed with modern IT tools and Computer software packages.

 

Research Fellow (Energy, Transport & Environment)
Job responsibilities include:

Computer Operation Officer (GSS-II)
Job Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of IT infrastructure.
  • Provide effective electronic communication by maintenance of Web Mail Server for LAN/WAN connectivity.
  • Management, maintenance and troubleshooting of all LAN workstations.
  • Maintenance of the network systems and security parameters through reliable security and antivirus software.
  • Maintenance of SEC data backup and recovery solution effectively.
  • Upgrade SEC’s IT infrastructure by life-cycle replacements for hardware and software.
  • Maintenance of SEC website and Data Portal.
  • Keep updated information available for public consumption by maintaining SEC’s website.
  • Facilitate uninterrupted voice communication by maintaining PABX System.
  • Facilitate uninterrupted printing and copying facility by maintaining Printers and Photocopiers.
  • Facilitate uninterrupted power solution by maintaining UPS.
  • Users IT and communication related problems resolution by help desk.
  • Arrangement of meetings with respect to IT requirements.
  • Maintenance and management of inventory of equipment.
  • Any other assignment(s) delegated by Director.

Qualification and Expereince:

  • BS(CS) /BS (IT) / MIT / MCS/MS(IT) from a reputed and accredited local/foreign university CGPA 2.4/4.0 or CGPA 3.5/5.0 or equivalent marks percentage under semester/annual system with no third division in the academic career.
  • Minimum 5 years post qualification experience in troubleshooting of both hardware /software issues, should be well versed with Microsoft products such as, Server and Client-server operating systems, office applications, exchange server.
  • Maximum age limit is 35 Years.
